Representative Appellate Experience

• Frank Zimmerman Collective v. City of Vista, Fourth Appellate District Divison 1 (D082921).  Currently representing FZC in an appeal of the trial court's ruling on its petition for writ of administrative mandamus.  

• 562 Discount Med Inc. v. Glass House Brands, Inc., Second Appellate District (B340236).  Currently representing 562 in connection with an appeal from the trial court's ruling granting defendant's motion for judgment on the pleadings based on equitable judicial abstention in a 17200 action.

• Feah, LLC v. City of El Monte et al., Second Appellate District, Division Four (B334407).  Currently representing one of several Real Parties in Interest ("RPIs") in connection with an appeal of the denial of a mandamus action by an unsuccessful cannabis license applicant against the City of El Monte.     

• HNHPC, Inc. v. The Department of Cannabis Control (2023) 94 Cal. App. 5th 60 (Fourth App. Dist., Div. 3) (appeal from a trial court order sustaining the DCC's demurrer without leave to amend and the resulting judgment entered against HNHPC).  On August 2, 2023, in a unanimous decision, the Court of Appeal reversed the judgment against HNHPC, finding DCC's Demurrer had been improperly sustained and that HNHPC had pled a legally viable claim for writ of mandate to compel the DCC to perform its legally mandated duty to implement a "track and trace" system which flagged irregular cannabis transactions for further investigation. 

• EEL Holdings, LLC v. LA Church, LLC, Fourth App. Dist., Div. 1 Case No. D078726 (2002) (co-counsel on successful defense of denial of anti-SLAPP Motion).

• Schuster v. Hilton, Fourth App. Dist, Div. 1 Case No. D045249 (appeal from judgment -- successfully upheld trial court rulings and judgment on appeal, and successfully opposed Petition for Review to California Supreme Court).  See 2006 Cal. App. Unpub. LEXIS 465 (appellate decision upholding trial court judgment).​

• Ramsey v. Superior Court, Fourth App. Dist., Div. 3 Case No. G036310 (successfully opposed Writ of Mandate).

• Edison Mission Development Corp. v. Siemens Westinghouse Power Corp., Orange County Superior Court Case No. 02CC18636 (successfully opposed Writ of Mandate and/or Prohibition in the Fourth Appellate District, Division 3). 

• 21st Century Insurance Group v. Pickett Advertising, Inc., Los Angeles Superior Court Case No. LC060919 (filed a successful Peremptory Writ of Mandate challenging trial court disqualification order).
